About this Elective

This elective is benchmarked to the Chartered Accountancy course of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Over the years, the Chartered Accountancy profession has achieved rapid growth by virtue of quality professional services being rendered by its members and has come to occupy a prominent role in India’s economy and society at large. The CA course as it is popularly known is the most preferred and sought after course by students wanting to make a career in the accounting and finance domain. The CA course assessment pattern is such that it tests the sufficiency of technical competence, professional skills and professional values, ethics and attitudes acquired during practical training. The assessment of professional skills progresses through three levels – Foundation, Intermediate and Final.

More than 75% of the courses (subjects) under this Corporate Accounting elective are benchmarked against the curriculum as prescribed for papers under the three levels of CA. Therefore, a student enrolled in the Corporate Accounting elective stands to get the advantage of learning and preparing for the CA course along with the B.Com program. This allows a student to completely focus on the CA course without having to worry about studying a different set of subjects for the BCom Program. The online mode of learning provides a great deal of flexibility for a student to focus on CA coaching and practical training during the three years of articleship on weekdays. .
